#4 Mavericks Race Past Cowgirls 92-53

Colorado Mesa (21-1, 17-1 RMAC) defeated New Mexico Highlands (4-18, 4-14 RMAC) 92-53, Friday night in Las Vegas, NM in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action. CMU's 92 points is a season-high point total and first time this season the team has scored 90-plus points.

NMHU won the tip-off and scored the first basket of the game before the Mavericks scored 16-unanswered points. CMU never trailed again in the contest, pushing their road record to 8-1.

CMU led at half 47-30 behind Kelsey Sigl's 21-first half points. Sigl was 8 of 10 from the floor and grabbed six rebounds in 21 minutes of action.

Sigl finished the game posting her first double-double of the season with a game high 30 points and 10 rebounds. Sigl's 30 points is one-under her career high of 31 points. She was 10 of 14 from the field, including 2 of 3 from the 3-point line.

Sharaya Selsor finished with 18 points and Katrina Selsor notched 16 points and six rebounds.

CMU dominated the boards, 43-28, including 31 defensive rebounds. The Mavericks shot 54 percent for the field (31-57) and 79 percent from the foul line (22-28).

New Mexico Highlands was led by Alyssa Lopez who recorded 20 points, connecting on 11 of 14 from the free throw line.

CMU will look for their fourth consecutive victory on Saturday night at Western New Mexico University. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
