W. Basketball Preview - Colo. Mines & Colo. Christian

Colorado Mesa will be on the road this week for a pair of raod games. On Friday, they will take on the Colorado Mines Orediggers in Golden. Then on Saturday, they will take on the Colorado Christian Cougars in Lakewood. Earlier this season, CMU defeated both schools. Here is a quick preview of both games.

Last Week for the Orediggers: Colorado Mines split a pair of road games last weekend in the Southern part of the state. On Friday, they defeated the Adams State Grizzlies 58-46 then on Saturday they fell to Fort Lewis 80-73 in Durango.

RMAC Standings: The Orediggers are in a tie for fifth place in the RMAC with Fort Lewis. Both schools are five games back of first place and two games back of second place.

Oredigger to Watch:
Senior Angie Charchalis (Sr., Craig, Colo.) is leading the Orediggers this season. Charchalis leads the team in points per game with 14.2 and is grabbing 4.4 rebounds a night. Charchalis had 21 points and eight rebounds against Metro State a few weeks ago.

Last Week for the Cougars: Colorado Christian went 1-1 on their recent road swing. The Cougars defeated Fort Lewis in Durango on Friday 79-69 but couldnt hold the momentum as they fell to Adams State on Saturday 57-54 in Alamosa.

RMAC Standings: The Cougars are currently in seventh place in the standings. They are just a game out of fifth place and three games out of second place.

Cougar to Watch:
Taylor Torres (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) has been the key this season with All-American Christina Whitelaw out with an injury. Torres is averaging 15.1 points per game and hitting on 34.1 percent of her three-balls. She had 21 points in her earlier meeting with the Mavericks.
