DENVER, Colo. – The Metro State Roadrunners scored two goals in the first half and three in the second half en route to a 5-1 win over the Colorado Mesa Mavericks in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's soccer match at Auraria Field.
The Roadrunners scored goals just two minutes apart in the first half with the first one coming at the 32:28 mark.
Metro State added three more goals in the second half.
The Mavericks would not be kept off the scoreboard though.
Monica Carlos scored her first collegiate goal of her career in the 78
th minute of the match. Carlos took a pass from
Ashley Wallace and found the back of the net.
Metro State took a total of 31 shots to the Mavericks 18 but Colorado Mesa put eight of their shots on target.
Colorado Mesa falls to 5-7-0 overall and 4-4-0 in the RMAC while the Roadrunners kept their record perfect at 9-0-3 on the season.
The Mavericks return home for a match on Friday against the Adams State Grizzlies at Walker Field.
