Colorado Mesa (17-0, 13-0 RMAC) defeated Regis University (7-10, 6-7 RMAC) 74-58 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action on Saturday night in Brownson Arena.
Katrina Selsor posted back-to-back double-doubles (vs. Metro on Friday) pulling down a career high 17 rebounds in the contest. Katrina scored 17 points and finished with a game high six assists. Kelsey Sigl recorded a game-tying high 21 points in 27 minutes of action. Bruna Deichmann registered 10 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
CMU jumped out quickly on the Rangers pushing the lead to double-digits (14-4) in the first six minutes of the game. Katrina Selsor's lay-up (assist Sharaya Selsor) at 13:42 in the first half gave CMU a 10-point lead and the Mavericks would maintain the double-figure lead the rest of the contest. CMU led by as many as 19 points in the first half shooting 52 percent (15-29) from the floor, taking a 39-24 lead in to intermission.
In the second half the closest the Rangers would come was 13 points on an opening bucket by Tae'lor Purdy, cutting the deficit to 39-26. CMU's largest lead of the game was 21 points with 5:17 remaining in regulation.
CMU dominated the boards holding a 48-25 rebound margin.
Regis was led by Tae'lor Purdy's 21 points and nine rebounds.
The Mavericks will look to remain undefeated as they travel to Colorado School of Mines next Friday night in Golden. On Saturday CMU will play at Colorado Christian University. Friday's tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
