Wrestling Preview - Chadron State

Colorado Mesa will travel north and face off with the Chadron State Eagles tonight from the Nelson Physical Activity Center in Chadron, Neb.

Last Season: L 13-20 in Grand Junction

The Eagles: Chadron State is led by a pair of upper weights in 184 pounder Jordan Debus, a NCAA National Qualifier, and 197 pound Chris Leak. Debus and Leak have matching 13-7 records on the year.

Senior Perry McAfee has the top record for the Eagles at 11-5 and is 2-0 in RMAC duals.

The Eagles are expecting back the services of Senior Brett Klopp. Klopp is recovering from a leg injury and could return to action against the Mavericks. Klopp is 3-2 on the season.

Chadron State's Season to date: The Eagles dropped a pair of close non-conference duals before the Christmas Break to Dickinson State (21-18) and Northern State (21-20).

After the break, they defetaed Embry Riddle in Arizona and then went 3-1 at the Grand Canyon Duals, defeating Minot State, Simon Fraser, and Cal Baptist while falling to #6 Grand Canyon.

Last Week, Chadron State picked up a home RMAC win over CSU-Pueblo.

Next Up for the Mavericks: Colorado Mesa will participate in the UNK Loper Duals in Kearney, Neb. The Mavericks will take on San Francisco State, Fort Hays State, Colby CC, and Newman University.

Next Week, CMU will return home and take on Division I Northern Colorado in Brownson Arena.
