Colorado Mesa (13-0, 9-0 RMAC) women's basketball team, remain undefeated on the year beating CSU-Pueblo (9-3, 6-2) on the road 70-66 on Friday night at Massari Arena in Pueblo.
Kelsey Sigl finished with 21 points and seven rebounds before fouling out late in the game. Sharaya Selsor had 20 points, a game high six assists and two rebounds. Sharaya was 6 of 14 from the floor and 4 of 8 from the 3-point line. Bruna Deichmann recorded her first double-double of the year with a season high 13 rebounds and 10 points off the bench.
CMU led 36-31 at half behind Sharaya Selsor's 11-first half points, hitting 3 of 5 from the 3-point line. Kelsey Sigl added 10 points in the first 20-minutes of action connection on 5 of 6 from the floor. The Mavericks trailed by as many as six points in the first half (15:57).
CSU-Pueblo opened the second half on a 5-0 run to tie the game at 36-36. Tied at 38-38 the Mavericks went on a 7-0 run for their largest lead of the second half. CSU-Pueblo stayed within single digits and down the stretch came within a possession of tying or taking the lead. CMU held off the upset-minded T-Wolves to keep their 13-game win streak intact.
CSU-Pueblo was led by Laurel Kearsley's 21 points and eight rebounds. Kearsley registered 14-first half points.
CMU will travel to UC-Colorado Springs on Saturday to take on the Mountain Lions at 5:30 p.m.
