Box Score The Colorado Mesa University Men's Soccer team opened up their season in the Dixie State Kickoff Classic on Saturday Night in St. George, Utah. The Mavericks took on an opponent from the CCAA for the second consecutive season in the Cal State-San Bernadino Coyotes. The Mavericks and Coyotes played to a 1-1 tie after 110 minutes had elapsed.
CSU-SB took the early lead in the first half when Demitri Burgos tinkled the back of the net in the 36th minute of the match. Burgos was assisted by Raul Gomez and Michael Cable and took. The Coyotes took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

The two teams played to a 1-1 tie after Colorado Mesa outshot the Coyotes 21-4 for the match and an 12-4 shots on goal advantage.
The Mavericks will finish the Kickoff Classic with a match on Monday against host Dixie State.
