CMU eliminated at RMAC Tournament, Fall to Cougars 6-1

Colorado Mesa (26-22) was eliminated from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Championship Tournament falling to Colorado Christian 6-1 on Saturday morning in Golden on the campus of Colorado School of Mines. Colorado Christian will advance to the title game and needs to beat Ft. Lewis College twice to win the title. Ft. Lewis is the only undefeated team in the double elimination tournament.

Colorado Christian scored three runs in the bottom of the second and added three more runs in the third for a 6-0 lead. CMU put a run on the board (6-1) in the fifth on an RBI fielder's choice by Danielle Vallie to score Taylor Gross (single).  

Ashley Pulido went 2.2 innings to start the game giving up six earned runs on eight hits. Courtney Maihi came on in relief and pitched 3.1 innings allowing three hits and striking out four.

CMU registered 11 hits while the Cougars finished with 11 hits on the day. CMU left 11 runners stranded on base. Megan Smith had three hits on the day and Taylor Gross, Lita Romero and Lisa Pille each tallied two hits in the game.
