Colorado Mesa (23-15, 21-13 RMAC) softball split Saturday's doubleheader with visiting Neb.-Kearney (20-20, 17-13 RAMC) on the Mavericks annual 'Swing for Life' Cancer Benefit weekend.
CMU won game two on Saturday in dramatic fashion scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth and setting down the Lopers in order in the top of the seventh for a 3-2 win.

Megan Smith's single and an error by the Loper leftfielder scored Maihi to tie the game at 2-2, while Smith advanced to third.

UNK won game one 7-6 despite trailing 4-1 through three innings. The Lopers put up four runs in the fourth on a solo homerun and a three-run homerun for a 5-4 lead. UNK added two runs in the fifth on back-to-back homeruns. CMU put up two in the fifth on a two-run homerun by

Courtney Maihi took the loss going 4 2/3 innings allowing seven run on 12 hits, three walks and two strikeouts. Pulido pitched a hitless 2 1/3 innings.
Coach Kris Mort was honored following the doubleheader with the 'Swing for Life' Community Service Award.
