Colorado Mesa University men's hockey team defeated Colorado College Club Hockey 9-7 on Sunday in Colorado Springs. The Mavericks avenged a loss to the Tigers on Saturday night, falling 7-5.
Freshman
Cole Sweeny and Phillip Flink each recorded hat tricks to lead the Mavericks to their first win of the season. Flink scored four goals in Sunday's victory.
CMU's goalie,
Zack Green was outstanding in the net for the Mavs, holding off the Tigers to secure CMU's victory. In just his second start at goalie for the Mavericks, Green gained valuable experience.
