Mavs Fall at Lindenwood in WILA Action

Colorado Mesa University Women's Lacrosse team took on Lindenwood University in a Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association matchup.  It was a rough day for the Mavs as they struggled to find a comfort zone on the road and fell 21-4.

Lindenwood jumped on the Mavs early as they raced to a 10-0 lead in the first half.  The Mavericks showed some life as they fought back with two goals of their own, but Lindenwood closed out the half with another goal to go up 11-2.  The Mavs opened the second half with a goal to make the score 11-3, but Lindenwood was too much as they went on a run of 10-1 to close out the game 21-4.

Rachel Sutton led the Mavericks with two goals on three shots with three groundballs.  She also had six draw controls and caused two turnovers.  Allie Henderson and Keri Kopchik had the other two goals for the Mavericks; Allie also had an assist.

Amanda Simon had one assist as she was 0-3 on her shots for the day; she also grabbed two groundballs and took one draw control.  Myka Wiebe led the defensive effort with three groundballs and two caused turnovers.

Lauren Wells got the decision for the Mavs as she earned herself five saves on the day.
