Mavericks Go 3-0 in CMU Duals

The Colorado Mesa University Wrestling team hosted the CMU Duals this afternoon in Brownson Arena. The Mavericks wrestled against Sierra College, Western Wyoming CC, and Embry Riddle.

Colorado Mesa benefitted from five forfeits to win a 42-9 dual with Sierra College out of California. Mitch Wyatt picked up a pin at 174 pounds at the 6:01 mark of the match to lead the Mavericks. Telbe Storbeck and Zak Slotten picked up wins for the Mavericks at 157 and 184 pounds in two of the other contested matches.

Paco Retana's 13-6 decision over the Mustangs Mike WIlliams sealed the Mavericks victory over Western Wyoming 22-15. Colorado Mesa won seven of the ten matches but Western Wyoming picked up pins at 174 and 197 pounds to keep the score.
