Mavericks End Season with 2-0 Loss to Metro State

            The Colorado Mesa University Women's Soccer team opened the RMAC Tournament this afternoon with a quarterfinal matchup with the Metro State Roadrunners at Auraria Field in Denver. The Roadrunners tallied two second half goals en route to a 2-0 victory over CMU. Colorado Mesa ends their season with a 9-7-3 overall record.

            The Roadrunners scored a goal in the 67th minute when Karisa Price dribbled down the right side of the field and ripped a shot at the top of the box. The goal was her 15th of the season and gave the Roadrunners a 1-0 lead.

            Metro State dashed all hopes of a Maverick comeback in the 79th minute. Roadrunner Brandi Farley scored her fifth goal of the season on a cross from Aubrey Fondy which gave Metro State the decisive 2-0 edge.

            Metro State will move on to the RMAC Semifinals and play Colorado Mines on Friday in Golden.
