CMU (7-6, 5-4 RMAC) women's basketball team dropped it third consecutive RMAC game, 55-51 to CSU-Pueblo (10-2, 7-1) Saturday night at Brownson Arena.
CSU-Pueblo led the entire first half and held a 31-29 halftime advantage behind Janelle Branting's 15-first half points. CMU's Kelsey Sigl had 13 points in the first half, hitting 5 of 9 from the field.
CMU opened the second half with a bucket by Sigl to tie the game at 31-31. The ThunderWolves maintained a single digit lead until the 10:08 mark when the Mavericks took their first and only lead of the game. Effo Baker's 3-pointer gave CMU a 39-38 lead. CSU-P's Laurel Kearsley's layup two possessions later gave the T-Wolves the lead they would not relinquish on their way to their way to their 10th victory of the year.
Kelsey Sigl led all players with 25 points. Katrina Selsor finished with 11 points and a game high 10 rebounds.
CSU-P had two players in double digits; Branting's 22 points and Kearsley recorded 17 points and a team high nine rebounds.
The Mavericks will host UC-Colorado Springs on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm.
