CMU (8-8, 6-6 RMAC) women's basketball dropped a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference road game at Colorado School of Mines (6-12, 5-7) Saturday night in Golden, 58-54.
CMU's Tara Gehring and Kelsey Sigl each finished with 13 points and Dallas Rohrbaugh recorded nine points off the bench.
The Mavericks held a 28-25 halftime lead behind Sigl's 11-first half points. CMU shot 37 percent from the floor (9-25) in the first 20-minutes. Colorado Mines had a balanced attack in the first half led by Angie Charchalis' nine-first half points.
CMU pushed the lead to five points (36-31) early in the second half on a layup by Gehring. Colorado Mines tied the game at 37-37 at the 14:02 mark and the two teams exchange leads for the next six minutes. The Mavericks were up three (45-42) when CSM's Angie Charchalis' 3-pointer tied the game at 45-45, with 8:19 remaining in regulation. The Orediggers would not trail again hitting 8 of 9 free throws in the final 42-seconds to clinch the victory.
Mines' Angie Charchalis led all players with a game high 24 points and seven rebounds.
CMU will play at Colorado Christian on Saturday night in Lakewood. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m.
