Mountaineers Top Mavericks 75-64

CMU (8-7, 6-5 RMAC) women's basketball  team let a 14 point lead in the first half slip away in the second half Saturday night at Western State (8-9, 7-4 RMAC), falling 75-64 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.

Western State trailed 39-29 at halftime as the Mavericks had two players notch double digits in the first twenty minutes. Kelsey Sigl had 11 points and six rebounds and Katrina Selsor added 10 points to help the Mavericks take a 10-point lead at intermission.

The Mountaineers opened the second half with an 18-7 run for a one point lead (47-46) at the 13:24 mark. The lead changed hands on several occasions in the next five minutes before a layup by Katie Hall (7:19) gave the Mountaineers a 57-56 lead they would not relinquish. CMU tied the score at 61-61 before WSC went on a 10-0 run and close out the final 3:51 outscoring CMU14-3. WSC outscored CMU 46-25 in the second half.

CMU was led by Kelsey Sigl's 19 points and Katrina Selsor's 15 points. The duo combined for 11 rebounds. Hanna Bowden notched a game high, 11 rebounds.

WSC had four players in double digits, led by Brooke Pendergraft's 20 points.

CMU will travel to Colorado School of Mines next Friday, January 20.
