Mesa State women's lacrosse (2-8, 1-4) team dropped a Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association game Friday 20-2 afternoon to Regis University (9-1, 5-0) in Denver. The Rangers are in first place in the WILA.
Regis jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the contest before MSC's Allie Henderson scored unassisted at the 8:31 mark. RU answered back with three consecutive goals and a 10-1 halftime lead.
In the second half the Rangers put up two goals (12-1) when the Mavs scored their second goal of the game on a Tayler Lansdown goal on an assist by Henderson. Regis would score the final eight goals of the game to remain undefeated in league action.
Regis outshot the Mavericks 42-10 and held the draw control advantage, 17-7. MSC had 21 turnovers in the game and 16 fouls. MSC was 7 of 17 on clear attempts and the Rangers were a perfect 10 for 10.
MSC goalkeeper Lauren Wells had nine saves and led the team with five ground balls.
MSC will return to action April 21 at Westminster College (Utah).
