Sara Jordan pitched a complete game shut-out in game one against Metro State Sunday at Bergman Field. The Mavs beat the Roadrunners 3-0 scoring one run in the fourth and two runs in the fifth inning for the victory.

Gabriella Parra went 1 for 3 with two RBI in the fifth. Parra singled in the fifth knocking in Lita Romero (single) and Taylor Gross (walked). Mavs run in the fourth was scored by Vallie who singled to lead off the inning and scored on an error by the Metro pitcher.

Jordan allowed just three hits and recorded three strikeout and two base-on-balls.

Metro State answered back in game two in an 8-2 victory. The Roadrunners scored three runs in the second on a three-RBI triple by Kelsey Tillery. Metro took a 4-0 lead in the third on a solo homerun. MSC put one run on the board in the bottom half of the third on off an RBI-double by Lauren Cross, scoring Romero (unearned).

In the fifth the Roadrunners added three more runs on four hits for a 7-1 lead. MSC added one in the bottom of the sixth on a sac fly by Shannon McClenahan scoring Cross (hit by pitch).

Metro put one run up in the seventh and set down the Mavericks in the bottom for the series split.

Jordan 13-8) took the loss allowing three earned runs in the first two innings. Ashley Pulido pitched the next three innings giving up four earned runs on five hits. Parra went the last 2.0 innings allowing one run on two hits.

MSC will travel to CSU-Pueblo for a four-game set with the T-Wolves beginning Friday at Noon.
