The Mesa State Mavericks dropped their final home lacrosse game this afternoon to the Notre Dame de Namur Argos at Walker Field 13-8. The loss drops the Mavericks to 5-7 overall and 3-4 in the WILA. The Argos remain undefeated in WILA play improving their record to 7-0.
Notre Dame scored five first quarter goals, which proved to be the difference in the game, and outshot the Mavs 11-1. The two teams played to and 8-8 game after the first period.
Dakota Klossner picked up a hat trick in the game with three goals on ten shots. He finished with three groundballs and was 2-for-4 on his faceoff attempts.
Parker Dotsey finished the game 14-for-19 on faceoff attempts. Parker also picked up eight groundballs and caused two turnovers.
For the game, Mesa State outshot the Argos 39-27 for the game including a 22-3 edge in the fourth quarter. Notre Dame was 15-for-24 on their clear attempts while Mesa State was 12-of-16. Each team scored two goals on their extra man opportunities.
