#9 Lopers Pin Down Win Against Mavs

          The Mesa State Mavericks had another dual against another ranked opponent. This time it was the 9th ranked Nebraska Kearney Lopers that came to Grand Junction. The Lopers won nine of the ten bouts en route to the 37-6 win against the Mavericks.

          The lone bright spot on the night for the Mavericks came at 157 pounds when Sophomore Jon Gappmaier (Salt Lake City, Utah) pinned Loper Islam Abitov in 5:52. The win was Gappmaier's 15th of the season and the pin was his 5th of the season.

          Nebraska Kearney won four matches by bonus point margins including three by pin. Nebraska Kearney is now 16-3 on the season and 6-1 in the RMAC.

          Mesa State falls to 7-9 in duals and 4-6 in the RMAC duals.

          Mesa State will train and get healthy for  the NCAA Super Region 4/RMAC Championships on February 26th and 27th in San Francisco, Calif. Qualifiers from that meet will advance to the NCAA Championships in Kearney, Neb.
