CMU (6-3, 4-1) fell to No. 6 Fort Lewis College (7-1, 4-0) on Friday night in RMAC action, snapping the Mavericks six game win streak.

Tara Gehring led the team with 15 points and Hanna Bowden finished with 12 points and six rebounds off the bench. Katrina Selsor led all players with 11 rebounds.

FLC led 32-22 at intermission, forcing 16 CMU turnovers resulting in 15 Skyhawk points. FLC broke a 7-7 tie at 13:42 and never trailed again in the contest. CMU shot 28 percent (8-28) in the first half.

In the second half the Skyhawks extended the lead to 17 points (14:25) and maintained a double digit lead until Bowden's jumper at 5:35, capped off a 14-5 run, cutting  the Skyhawk lead to eight points. FLC outscored the Mavs 15-9 in the final five minutes, including 9 of 10 from the foul line. The Skyhawks finished 24 of 30 from the free throw line. CMU shot 44 percent from the foul line (7-16).

CMU out rebounded the Skyhawks 43-29 but the Mavs' 31 turnovers resulted in 26 FLC points. Dana Schreibvogel led the Skyhawks with 21 points.

The Mavericks will host Adams State College on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm.
