Colorado Mesa (5-2, 3-0) women's basketball team extended their win streak to five games Friday night defeating Western New Mexico (0-6, 0-3) 88-71 in Silver City, N.M.
 
Five Maverick players notched double digit figures led by Tara Gehring's 19 points. Katrina Selsor, Kelsey Sigl and Alaina Brennan had 14 each and Amy Weitzeil finished with 12 points. Selsor and Leanndra Gilbert had five rebounds each and Sigl led all players with six assists.
 
CMU led 47-39 at intermission shooting 63 percent (17-27) from the field. The Mavericks were 7 of 12 from beyond the arc in the first half. CMU finished the game 11 of 22 from the 3-point line.
 
The Mustangs were led by Jelesia Gray's 19 points and five rebounds. WNMU had three players finish with double digit figures.
 
CMU will travel to Las Vegas, N.M. for a match-up with the Cowgirls on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 6 pm.
