CMU Falls to #25 Orediggers 4-1

Box Score         The Colorado Mesa University fell to the 25th ranked Orediggers of Colorado Mines Sunday afternoon in Golden, Colo. 3-1. The loss dropped the Mavericks overall record to 6-5-2 and 5-2-2 in RMAC matches while the Orediggers improved their record to 9-1-1 and 5-1-1 in RMAC competition.
        The Mavericks jumped out to the early lead in the 10th minute of the match. Tayler Franklin scored her 2nd goal of the season on a cross from Veronica Rodriguez. The goal scored by CMU was only the 6th goal Colorado Mines has allowed all season.
        After the Colorado Mesa goal, Colorado Mines tallied 3 first half goals including an own goal in the 17th minute of the match. The Oredigger notched one second half goal on their way to the 4-1 win.
        The Mavericks will head back on the road next weekend for a match with Regis University. Earlier this season, CMU defeated Regis at Walker Field by a 3-1 margin.
