Trackstars Perform at Christiansen Invite

          The Mesa State Track & Field Team competed at the Jack Christiansen Invitational in Ft. Collins over the weekend. The Meet was held at Colorado State University where ten teams competed on the women's side including Colorado State, University of Colorado, and Northern Colorado.

          Freshman Lindsay Hart competed in the 100m hurdles where she placed 6th. Her time of 16.17 was 3rd among Division II competitors.

          Local Standout Breanna Jones (Grand Junction, CO) finished 10th (3rd among DII sprinters) in the 100m in a time of 12.73. Jones also ran the 200m in a time of 26.18, good enough for 9th overall (3rd in DII).

          Freshman Aubrey Valdez competed in the 800m and ran to a 7th place finish in a time of 2:30.01.

          Senior Ashlee Hafey ran the 400m in 1:03.17 which placed her 10th in the event. Her time put her 3rd among DII runners.

          Sophomore Sierra Wiggins once again showed she is one of the better Javelin throwers around. She placed 5th in the event, ahead of two CU-Boulder throwers, with a best of 36.07m.

          Next up, is the RMAC Championships in Pueblo on May 9-11.
