The Mesa State Track & Field team competed last weekend at the CSU-Pueblo Combined & Invitational. The Mavericks finished 11th in the event out of 19 teams.
Freshman
Breanna Jones (Grand Junction, CO) placed 4th in the 100m Dash in a time of 12.80. Jones also placed 6th in the 200m in a time of 26.00.
Fellow Freshman
Alicia Gieck (Delta, CO) competed in the 200m dash and the 400m dash. Gieck placed 10th in the 200m in a time of 26.46 and 9th in the 400m in 1:00.93.
Sophomore
Sierra Wiggins (Paonia, CO) finished 5th in the Javelin throw with a throw of 35.27m.
Freshmen
Lindsay Hart (Gunnison, CO) and
Christina Slanger (Durango, CO) competed in the heptathalon. Hart finished with a score of 3657 while Slanger finished with 3186. The heptathalon consists of the 200m dash, 800m run, 100m hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot put, and the Javelin. Points are then awarded based on your performance in those events.
Redshirt Freshman
Alexis Skarda (Boulder, CO) competed at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, CA. Skarda competed in the 1500m where she ran a 4:32.04 which placed her 18th in the event. 86 total athletes ran in the 1500m. Laura Esther Galvan of Mexico won the event in a time of 4:25.20.
Nest up for the Mavericks is the Jack Christensen Invitational at Colorado State on Saturday April 24th.
