Sara Jordan pitched a complete game shutout in game one of a doubleheader with Colorado School of Mines Friday afternoon at Bergman Field.
MSC defeated the Orediggers 1-0 to extend their win streak to a season high four games.
MSC's lone run came in the first inning off a double to right center by Jordan, scoring Dani Valli. Valli led off the inning with a base-on-balls.
Jordan allowed just three hits, walked one and struck out one for her sixth win on the year.
In game two Colorado Mines defeated MSC 8-0 in a five inning (run-rule) victory snapping the Mavs win streak at four.
The Orediggers scored two runs in the first inning, one in the third and put the game away with five runs in the fourth. CSM tallied 11 hits to record their 17th victory.
MSC registered just one hit off Mines starter Kelly Unkrich. Gabi Parra singled to shortstop in the first inning for the Mavs hit.
Mesa State will host UC-Colorado Springs Saturday afternoon in a doubleheader scheduled to start at 3 p.m. at Bergman Field. Prior to the Mavs game, Colorado Mines and Fort Lewis will play a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday Fort Lewis and UCCS will wrap up the four team pod with a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
