Mavs drop two on the road

Two matches cancelled due to weather

Mesa State women's tennis team dropped a pair of dual matches on the road this weekend. MSC fell to Midwestern State (TX) 5-4 and lost at Division I, Northern Colorado 6-1. Dual matches against regional opponents Central OK and Cameron (OK) were cancelled due to snow in the Denver area.

Thursday afternoon against Midwestern State the Mavericks won 1 of the 3 doubles matches due to a forfeit, entering singles play down 1-2. MSC's Victoria Sargent (#3) and Kaitlan Sera (#4) were victorious each winning in third set super tie-breaks. No. 6 singles player Cyndle Curfman won by default. Midwestern State won the dual with victories at No. 1, 2 and 5 singles respectively.

Kaitlan Sera kept her singles streak alive defeating Northern Colorado's number 4 singles player Sunday in Greeley, 3-6, 6-0, 7-6 (12-10), pulling out a third set super tie-break 12-10. Sera scored the lone point as the Mavs fell to the Bears 6-1.

MSC will travel to Kearney, NE dual matches with Minnesota State Mankato on Friday (3/26) and Hastings College on Saturday (3/27).
