Skarda wins at Championships

        The Mesa State Track & Field Team competed this past weekend in the RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in Golden, CO. Mesa State had three athletes qualify for the finals in their respective events.

        Alexis Skarda won the 1 mile run in 5:04.84 almost a second faster than the second place finisher from Adams State. Skarda has already qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 1 mile with her time of 4:53.73 at the New Mexico Classic.

        Alicia Gieck qualified for the finals in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.85, placing her seventh overall. Breanna Jones made the finals in the 200m.

        Lindsay Hart qualified for the finals in the 60m hurdles and finished 7th with a time of 9.35. Hart also competed in the Pentathalon and finished tied for 7th with a score of 2873.

        The NCAA Championships are being held in Albuquerque, NM this year and are being hosted by Adams State College and the Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau on March 12th and 13th.
