The Mesa State Maverick Women's Soccer team took on the nationally ranked Metro State Roadrunners. Metro State would get a second half goal and roll to a 1-0 victory. The Mavericks record would fall to 4-6-2 and 2-5-1 in RMAC play, while #11 Metro State improved to 9-1-1 and 5-1-1 in the RMAC.
The Mavericks and Roadrunners played to a scoreless first half. Stats were nearly even through the first 90 minutes of play.
In the 60th minute, Roadrunner Aleah DeGeneres found the back of the net to give Metro State a 1-0 edge. The goal was Degeneres' sixth goal of the season. Aleah took a pass from Ashley Nemmers and found the top left side of the net.
The score would end 1-0 in favor of Metro State.
Mesa State will be back in action next weekend as they host the Regis Rangers. On Wednesday, the Mavericks will travel to Durango to take on the Ft. Lewis Skyhawks.
