The Mesa State Mavericks Women's Soccer team faced another stiff test on Sunday when the squared off with 24th ranked Colorado Mines Orediggers. After 110 minutes elapsed in the game, nothing was settled as they played to a 1-1 tie. The Mavericks record sits at 4-5-2 and 2-4-1 in the RMAC and the Orediggers record goes to 5-2-3 and 4-1-1 in RMAC play.
The Mavericks scored there lone goal in the 23rd minute of the game. Senior
Daniela Ramirez (Rupert, Idaho) scored her 3rd goal of the season when she took a cross from fellow Senior
Marissa Cascio (Chandler, Ariz.) and found the left side of the net. It was Cascio's 2nd assist of the season.
The Orediggers answered back 10 minutes later. In the 33rd minute, Oredigger Anna Evans scored her 2nd goal of the season and evened the score at one a piece. Evans took a pass from Aubrey Bagley and found the back of the net.
Both squads had oppurtunities in both overtimes. Mesa State found the near post on one oppurtunity while the Orediggers took a few shots in which Maverick Goalkeeper
Alicia Kahler (Spokane, Wash.) made excellent saves on.
The Mavericks will be back in action next weekend as they take on the Regis Rangers on Friday night at 7:00pm at Walker Field.
