Box Score Mesa State (2-8, 1-4) was out scored 13-5 in the final 3:02 of the game, falling at Chadron State 60-55 Friday night in RMAC action.
MSC took a 50-47 lead on a 3-pointer by Hannah Breidel at the 3:02 mark for the Mavs last lead as the Eagles used a 13-5 run to improve their record to 2-10 overall and 2-3 in RMAC play. Chadron's Kaitlin Petri's six consecutive free throws in the final 44 seconds sealed the victory. Petri led all players with a game high 29 points, including 19-second half points.
Chadron was 15 of 16 from the foul line while the Mavs hit just 6 of 12 fro the charity stripe. MSC dominated the boards holding a 42-29 advantage, but turned the ball over 16 times.
Meagan Selvidge led the Mavs with 11 points, adding five rebounds and three assists. Alaina Brennan finished with 10 points off the bench.
Courtney McCaig and Jenn Kimbrow had seven rebounds each and combined for 15 points.
MSC will travel to Neb.-Kearney for a match-up with the Lopers Saturday night. Tip-off is 5 p.m. (MST).
