Orediggers Overwhelm Mavericks

        The Colorado Mines Orediggers came into Walker Field looking to get back to the top of the RMAC standings and did so with a 2-0 victory over the Mavericks. The Orediggers record improved to 6-1-0 and 2-1-0 in RMAC play moving them into a 2nd place tie with Ft. Lewis and Mesa State. The Mavericks record drops to 5-2-0 and 2-1-0 in RMAC competition.

        The Orediggers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Kayla Mitchell, her 7th of the season. Mitchell's goal occured in the 37th minute, a shot that beat the goalie on the right side.

        Colorado Mines second goal happened in the 78th minute from Jessica Stark, her 3rd of the season. The score would remain 2-0 for the rest of the game giving Mines the victory.

        Mesa State is off this Sunday but will be back in action next weekend. They will face Metro State and Colorado Christian in Denver on Friday and Sunday respectively. Mesa State's next home match will be on October 2nd as they take on the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls.
