Mesa State women's golf team finished eighth overall at the NCAA Division II Super Regional Three Women's Golf Championships at the Westward Ho Country Club in Sioux Falls, S.D. MSC finished the three day tournament with a total 1026 (336-355-335) carding a 335 on the final day of play. Upper Iowa led from start to finish capturing the team title with 930 (313-315-302). Concordia-St. Paul was second (947) and host Augustana (SD) earned the last national qualifying spot with 965 (327-326-312).
Freshman Jennifer Hilts finished tied for 13th overall in a field of 47 with a three day total 244. Hilts' 77 on the final day was a team best and one of two rounds by an MSC player in the 70's. Freshman Afton Balling shot a 79 on day one. Balling tied for 37th place with 260 (79-93-88). Senior Sadie Peavler-Farnsworth tied for 33rd place in her final collegiate tournament. Peavler-Farnsworth shot her low round of the tournament on the final day, carding an 82 (86-90-82) and 258 for the tournament.
Freshman Jessica Berve's 264 (89-87-88) tied her for 40th place and Brittani White finished with 300 (104-100-96) and 47th place.
Upper Iowa's Rochelle Schmidt took home top individual honors with a score of 220 (69-76-75). She led her team to first place, 17 shots (930) better than second place Concordia-St. Paul (947).
The top three teams (Upper Iowa, Concordia-St. Paul, Augustana (SD) and the top three individuals not on a top three finishing team, advancing to the NCAA Division II National Golf Championships. Top individual qualifiers are; Leah Grozdanich (237-Minnesota State), Kalli Stanhope (238-Montana State Billings) and Jaymie Halverson (239-Minnesota State).
