Mavs Beat Adams State 4-1

RMAC Tournament - Elimination Round

Mesa State stays alive in the RMAC softball tournament Thursday afternoon with a 4-1 win over Adams State College in an elimination game at Regis Softball Field. The Mavericks advance to the 12:30 game Friday to face the loser of the Metro State versus CSU-Pueblo game being played at 9:30 a.m.


MSC's Meagan Hennessy's two-run home run in the sixth inning put the Mavs on top of the Grizzlies 4-0. ASC's lone run came in the bottom of the sixth inning. Back-to-back doubles by Danielle Vallie and Jamie Prather in the third inning scored one run. Gabriella Parra single to centerfield advanced Prather to third, and then scored on a throwing error. Vallie, Prather and Parra finished with two hits each.


Starter Jessica Rayman improved to 7-5 with the victory. Rayman allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 5.0 innings. Sara Jordan picked up her third save of the year allowing 2 hits, striking out 2 in 2.0 innings of work.
