Jordan earns fifth victory in 5-4 win over Regis

Softball Sweeps Saturday's DH

Beat Regis 5-4 & 8-0

            MSC improved to 11-11 overall (7-9 RMAC) sweeping visiting Regis University Saturday at Bergman Field. The Mavericks won game one 5-4 and shutout the Rangers 8-0 in game two.

                Sara Jordan came on in relief and pitched four innings allowing two runs on eight hits, picking up her fifth victory of the year. Jordan went 2 for 3 from the plate, scoring twice and knocking in two runs. She hit her fourth homerun of the season in the fifth inning.  

                Cierra Lard pitched six innings and allowed just three hits in an 8-0 shutout win in game two. Lard recorded five strikeouts and earned her second win of the year.

                Redshirt freshman Danielle Vallie went 2 for 3, scoring three runs. Vallie had two outstanding defensive plays from her centerfield position, in the Mavs first shutout win this season.

                Sara Jordan finished 3 for 4 with two RBI. Jamie Prather hit her second homerun of the year in the third inning. Gabriella Parra recorded multiple hits (2-4). MSC tallied 11 hits in game two.

                MSC and the Rangers will play a doubleheader Sunday at Bergman Field beginning at 11 a.m.
