Mesa State (7-11, 3-9) lost 8-2 and 7-0 at Colorado Mines (17-10, 9-3) in a doubleheader Saturday in Golden, Colo.
MSC allowed eight Oredigger runs in the first three innings of game one. MSC's two runs came in the third inning on a solo homerun by Katie Mitchell and a run scored on an illegal pitch by Mines.
Jessica Rayman (3-3) took the loss allowing eight runs on nine hits in three innings. MSC tallied five hits, two by Mitchell.
In game two the Orediggers shutout the Mavs 7-0 on 12 hits. MSC registered seven hits but stranded 14 base runners. Gabriella Parra was the only Mav with multiple hits (2 for 4). Sara Jordan dropped to 2-4 on the year giving up seven runs (four earned) on 12 hits in six innings.
MSC and CSM will hook up for a pair of games Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. at CSM softball field.
