Host Metro State (9-3, 2-0) swept Saturday's doubleheader against Mesa State (4-4, 0-2) in opening weekend of RMAC action.
The Roadrunners run-ruled the Mavericks in both games, winning 14-3 in game one and 16-8 in game two. Metro combined for 29 hits and 30 runs in the two games. MSC had a combined 15 hits and 11 runs. MSC committed five errors, four in game two.
Jamie Prather and Lauren Cross, last week's RMAC Player of the Week, had two hits each in game one. Cross knocked in two of the Mavericks three runs.
Gabriella Parra and Ashlee Duffy each went 2-for-3 in game two. Duffy registered four RBI and scored two runs.
MSC will look to get their first conference win on Sunday when the two teams hook up for a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. at Auraria Field on the campus of Metro State College.
