Box Score Mesa State (1-5, 0-3) fell to visiting Regis University (4-3, 1-2) Saturday night 79-64 at Brownson Arena.
MSC had five players in double digit figures led by Jennifer Landers' 16 points and four rebounds. Katie Cupp finished with 11 points and five assists. Jocelyn Zarling, Hannah Breidel and Jenn Kimbrow had 10 each.
MSC trailed by just six points at halftime (33-39) shooting 50 percent (13-26) from the field. MSC cut the Rangers 19-point lead to six points with a 14-1 run with 2:35 remaining in the first half.
Regis opened the second half with a 15-3 run pushing the lead back up to 18 points. The Rangers maintained a double digit lead on the way to their first conference victory this season.
Regis was led by Chelsea Porter's game high 22 points and seven rebounds.
MSC will host Metro State Sunday at 5 p.m.
