Women's Basketball Fall at Home to CSU-P

T-Wolves Win 62-50

Box Score

Mesa State women's basketball team dropped a 62-50 contest to visiting CSU-Pueblo Thursday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference west division play.

Trailing by as many as 14 points early in the second half the Mavericks went on a 14-0 run to tie the game at 41 with just over 10 minutes remaining. For the next five minutes the lead went back and forth until a turnover by the Mavs and a 3-point shot by CSU-P's Mary Rehfeld gave the T-Wolves a six point (52-46) advantage they never relinquished. CSU-P closed out the game on a 10-4 run for the win.

MSC's Alishea Kelly finished with a team high 11 points and added six rebounds in 24 minutes. Kelly was the only Mav to score in double digits. CSU-P had three starters finish with double figures.

Each team finished with 20 field goals, with the T-Wolves scoring just one more 3-pointer than the Mavs. The difference in the game was the foul line where MSC went 4-for-8 and CSU-Pueblo finished 15-of-22.

MSC will look to rebound Friday night when they host New Mexico Highlands at 6 p.m. The Cowgirls dropped a 84-64 contest at Western State Thursday night.
