Montana State Billings handed No. 24 Mesa State their first loss of the year in a 3-0 shutout Friday night in Billings. As a second year program, it was the first game for the Mavs as a ranked team
The Yellow jackets took a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute of the game and held a 2-0 lead at half. Montana State scored their final goal with under seven minutes remaining in regulation to push their season record to 2-1.
MSC tallied 10 shots in the game, four corner kicks and eight fouls. MSUB totaled 11 shots, seven corner kicks and 16 fouls.
Sam Dixon had 3 of 4 shots on goal turned away. Goalkeeper Josh Tinaglia played the entire game in the net for MSC, recording six saves.
MSC will face University of Mary in Billings, Sunday afternoon.
