Mesa State (4-1-0, 1-1-0) women's soccer earned its first shutout of the season and its first conference victory defeating UC-Colorado Springs 2-0 Sunday afternoon in Colorado Springs.

Sophomore forward Daniela Ramirez (5'3, Rupert, ID) scored on a header off an assist by Katrina Hartfield (Jr., DEF, 5'5, Arvada, CO) at the 15:25 mark. It is Ramirez's fourth goal of the season (team high) and second game winning goal.

Alyssa Michel (Fr., F, 5'7, Bellingham, WA) put the Mavs up 2-0 (21:17) after an assist from Kylie Kegans (Sr., F, 5'9, Claremont, CA). It marked Michel's second goal this weekend. She scored her first collegiate goal Friday afternoon against Colorado Mines.
