Cougars Down Mavericks at Home, 81-72

                In a rare Sunday afternoon RMAC game, Colorado Christian and Mesa State entered the game looking for their first RMAC victory. CCU lost at Western State Friday night and MSC fell to Colorado Mines. After a close first half the Cougars out scored MSC 50-38 in the second half on their way to an 81-72 victory over the Mavs. The loss dropped MSC to 3-5, 0-2 while the Cougars improved to 5-5, 1-1

                In the opening minutes of the first period Mesa State managed to develop a small, but fluctuating lead over CCU holding an 11 point lead midway through the first half. CCU went on a 10-0 run late in the first half pulling to within one point before closing out the first half trailing by three 31-34.

In the second half MSC held a slight lead through the first 11 minutes before the Cougars tied the game at 56 at the 8:54 mark. CCU took the lead on a lay-up by Jodie Krall and never trailed again. CCU's Abby Rosenthal finished with 26 points and 15 rebounds in 33 minutes of play.

                Local standout Erin Richardson had a season high 23 points including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Hannah Walsh and Hannah Breidel recorded 10 points each coming off the bench.

                MSC will travel to Metro State and Regis University next week before breaking for the holiday. MSC returns to action in the Christmas Classic at Brownson Arena beginning December 28.
