This Friday, the Mesa State Mavericks (3-4, 0-1) women's team hosted Colorado Mines (4-4, 1-0) in the opening weekend of RMAC action. The Orediggers shot 56.8 percent from the floor and defeated MSC 67-49.

CSM jumped out to a 36-24 halftime with the help of an 8-0 midway through the first half extending the lead to double digits. Mines shot 62.5 percent (15-24) in the first half while MSC hit just 11-of-33 (33.3 %) from the field.

The game's second period went along the lines of the first half with the Mavs unable to keep up with the Orediggers as Mines held a double digit lead throughout the second half. CSM had four players finish with double figures; MSC's leading scorer was Erin Richardson's 9 points off the bench. Stephanie Delgado posted a game high 12 rebounds.

MSC will look towards Sunday's match-up with Colorado Christian in hopes of snapping a two game losing streak.
