Last regular season series on tap for #1 Mavericks

**This weekend's series has changed to doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday with Friday beginning at 1:00pm and Saturday beginning at Noon**

SERIES HISTORY WITH MSU DENVER
The Mavericks and Roadrunners are set to meet up in the regular season series finale in Denver. Both teams are in the RMAC Tournament with MSU Denver holding a grasp of the No. 2 seed.

The Mavericks are 114-38 against the MSU Denver since the 2000 season. They are 40-25 on the road in Downtown Denver and are winners in eight of the last ten matchups dating back to the 2024 season.

The Mavericks and Roadrunners met up seven times last season with Colorado Mesa owning a 5-2 record in the season series. The two met up for the final time in the NCAA Tournament in Tyler, Texas with the Mavericks winning that contest 5-2.

SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS
The Roadrunners are a well rounded team with solid groups on the mound and at the plate. They are currently on the outside looking in at the regional but a strong weekend and a run in the tournament could send them back to the NCAAs.

Noah Wicks is one of the RMAC leaders in batting average at .472 for the season. He had seven hits last weekend in the series win over UCCS. He is also a long ball threat with seven home runs on the season.

Jake Syverson leads the Roadrunners on the mound with a 6-0 record and a 5.54 ERA. He had a season-high 11 strikeouts in a complete game effort against Colorado Christian.

ANOTHER ONE
The Colorado Mesa baseball team claimed the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season title and didnt even need to play a game last weekend. The Mavericks were on their conference bye week and need UCCS to beat MSU Denver just one time in their series and it happened on Saturday.

It is the 14th straight RMAC Regular Season title for Colorado Mesa and 29 overall regular season title. Head coach Chris Hanks has led the program to 21 of those titles in his 28th season as the head coach. In fact, Coach Hanks' teams have never finished lower than second place during his time.

With the regular season title under their belts, the Mavericks will host the RMAC Tournament beginning on Wednesday May 6 at The Diamond at Hamilton Ballpark.

40 PIECE
For the second straight season, the Colorado Mesa Mavericks have eclipsed the 40-win plateau. It is the 18th time they have hit the 40-win mark in head coach Chris Hanks' tenure.

To put that in perspective, reaching the 40-win mark of a season has only been done twice by a team not wearing a Colorado Mesa uniform since 2013 (2023, MSU Denver and 2019, Colorado School of Mines).

BIG ON BIG
This weekend's series will feature one of the top offenses and one of the top pitching staffs in Division II baseball. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference is known for having great offenses over the years with a majority of games being played at elevation above 4,000ft.

MSU Denver enters the weekend ranked second nationally in batting average at .361 just a tick behind national leader Francis Marion who is hitting .362 as a team. The Roadrunners also lead the country in total doubles with 135.

Colorado Mesa will travel to the Front Range with its team ERA of 3.70 which ranks No. 4 in Division II. The Mavericks also rank in the top-10 nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (No. 3, 2.95), Walks allowed per nine-innings (No. 6, 3.29) and WHIP (No. 7, 1.29).

STEALING RUNS
The Mavericks have found different ways to score runs this season. In year's past, they have relied on the long ball but this season they have drawn walks, sacrifice bunted them to the next base, stolen a base and then found a way to get a hit or score in another fashion.

Colorado Mesa is the No. 3 scoring team in the conference but rank No. 9 nationally at 10.1 runs per game. Kolby Felix ranks No. 10 in NCAA Division II in runs scored with 69. They are No. 19 nationally in sacrifice bunts and have stolen over 100 bases as a team for the sixth time in program history.

Kennedy Hara leads the RMAC and ranks No. 4 nationally in sacrifice bunts at 11 while Kolby Felix and Ezra Farmer are No. 1 and No. 2 in the conference for stolen bases with 20 and 19 respectively.

All seven finished in the minors with one of them seeing action in Major League Baseball during the 2025 season. RMAC DOMINATION
Colorado Mesa won its 14th straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title this season and are hungry for another tournament title as well. The Mavericks have won 29 overall regular season titles and 23 tournament titles after winning their third straight last season.

Since 2009, Colorado Mesa has won 82 percent of their games against RMAC competition as they have a 536-110 record in that span prior to the season.
