GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The awards continue to roll in for the Colorado Mesa baseball team. The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) released their All-Region and All-American teams late last week while the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) released their All-American team over the weekend.
Senior
Kolby Felix became the latest Maverick to earn a consensus First Team All-America honor as he was named to the ABCA and D2CCA First Team late last week. The Sun City, Ariz. native was also the consensus South Central Region Player of the Year as he picked up that distinction by the ABCA.
Felix batted .425 with 21 doubles and 17 home runs in his final collegiate season. He scored 88 runs, had an on-base percentage of .556, and a slugging percentage of .821 while stealing 26 bases.
Freshman
Jackson Eisenhauer earned consensus South Central Region Pitcher of the Year as he earned the honor from the ABCA after picking it up from the D2CCA and NCBWA. The Los Angeles, Calif. native also is now a consensus All-American as he earned Third Team accolades from the D2CCA and ABCA.
Eisenhauer went 8-1 with a 3.88 ERA in 60.1 innings pitched during his freshman season. He finished with 61 strikeouts against just 15 walks while earning RMAC Pitcher of the Week three times during the season.
Joey Blank was named ABCA Second Team All-American and D2CCA Honorable Mention All-American as a Utility (non-pitcher) after splitting time between second base and third base during the season. Blank batted .360 (1.013 OPS) with 12 doubles, two triples, and eight home runs while stealing 13 bases during his junior season.
Shortstop
Kennedy Hara earned ABCA All-South Central Region First Team honors as the infielder selection. The Aiea, Hawaii native batted .384 with 22 doubles, a triple and six home runs during his senior season.
Ezra Farmer was named to the ABCA All-South Central Region Second Team after earning First Team recognition by the NCBWA and D2CCA. The San Jacinto, Calif. native played in 58 games and started 57 games and batted .359 with 19 doubles, two triples, six home runs and 21 stolen bases.
Senior pitcher
Caleb Ruter picked up ABCA All-South Central Region Second Team honors in his final collegiate season. The lefthander went 8-0 with a 4.42 ERA in 73.1 innings pitched and added 67 strikeouts, 28 walks and opponents batted just .244 off of him.
Closer
Sage Ferguson was named to the ABCA All-South Central Region Second Team. The D2CCA and NCBWA First Team relief pitcher went 1-0 with a 2.05 ERA with six saves in 21 appearances. He pitched 26.1 innings and allowed 23 hits with 39 strikeouts and two walks. He had a WHIP of 0.95 (allowing less than one base runner per inning.)
