GAME 1 (CCU 12, CMU 0, 5 inn.):
The Mavs fell in a Cougar slugfest to begin their day as they suffered their first run-rule loss since April 2 at CSU Pueblo.
CCU scored in just two innings of the game but featured an eight-spot and four-spot in those two times with their pitching limiting the Mavs to just three hits total.
They scored eight runs in the third inning on six hits with them then adding four runs in the fifth inning on five more hits.
The Cougars hit four home runs in the win as well with three players being responsible for them.
Of the Mavs' three hits, Cailynn Parsons had two of them with Allison Lindsay later adding the third on a pinch hit in the fifth.

GAME 2 (CCU 12, CMU 2, 5 inn.):
The second game of the day featured a similar result to the first one, as the Mavs once again fell in a run-rule but were able to avoid the shutout this time.
The Cougars scored in four of the five innings in the game with them eventually breaking it away in the fifth inning when they scored six runs to finally reach run-rule territory.
They put up two runs in the second, third and fourth innings prior to that point.
Colorado Mesa scored both of their runs in the fourth to put themselves on the board for the first time of the day but couldn't muster anymore offense beyond that point.
April Neill was responsible for the runs as she hit a two-run home run that frame with this being her fourth long ball of her freshman campaign.
The Mavs were outhit 15-5 in the contest with five different players collecting those five hits as Neill was the only player with an extra base hit.
Sophia Tassinari and Marisa Nehm both combined to pitch in this game as well with Tassinari receiving the loss again to move to 12-12 on the year.
