COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University softball player Molli Magaña was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week this afternoon as released by conference officials.
Magaña earns this award for the first time in her career while being the first Maverick to win a weekly award from the conference this season.
The last time Colorado Mesa had an RMAC Player of the Week was in week eight of last season when Brynn Escobar won it on March 25, 2025.
Magaña was selected as this week's pick after having a monster series against Fort Lewis College in which she hit 8-for-14 (.571) while totaling six runs, one double, three home runs and nine RBIs.
Magaña had home runs in three games of the series with two of them being two-run shots and the other being a grand slam. Her home runs came in all three wins of the series with her now owning eight total to lead the team.
She recorded a slugging percentage of 1.286 from her performance while also owning an on-base percentage of .625.
Joining Magaña was CSU Pueblo's McKenna James, who was named as the Pitcher of the Week.
The Mavs will host No. 7 Colorado Christian University this weekend for their second consecutive home series with both schools sitting in the top four of the conference standings. Games are set for doubleheaders on both Saturday and Sunday with Saturday starting at noon.
