SAN ANGELO, Texas – Colorado Mesa University men's basketball standout Ty Allred was named to the D2CCA All South Central Region First Team this morning as released by region officials.
This is the first time in Allred's career he has earned this honor after being a First Team All-RMAC selection in the last two seasons.
Allred was voted to the first team after being one of the region's top performers this season averaging 18.6 points per game while adding 7.2 rebounds. Each of those marks ranked in the top five of the RMAC.
In addition, Allred had the fifth highest points per game in the entire region.
From the field Allred owns a shooting percentage of 50.1 while going 41.7 percent from three-point range and 83.4 percent from the free throw line.
He was top 10 in both field goal percentage and three-point field percentage in the RMAC.
Allred has scored in double figures in 27 of the Mavs' 31 games this season while collecting 13 20-point performances and three 30-point performances.
He also ranked in the top five of the RMAC for blocks with 37.
With the selection to All-Region, Allred now has a chance at potentially being a D2CCA All-American this year with the All-America squad being released in the coming weeks.
Lubbock Christian University's Amondo Miller Jr. was named as the Region Player of the Year while 10 players in total made up the two teams with the RMAC having five and LSC having six.
Western Colorado's Aidan McDowell and Black Hills State's Cam Lowe both were on the first team as well. Fort Lewis' Stewart Erhart was on the second team.
