Mav men ranked 20th in latest national track & field rankings

NEW ORLEANS— The Colorado Mesa University men's indoor track and field team surged 59 spots and is now ranked 20th in the country, according to the latest NCAA Division II National TFRI (Track & Field Rating Index), released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Tuesday.

The 59-spot improvement from last week's Checkpoint #1 of the 2025-26 season, was the largest of any squad in the country.

The Mavs now have 33.90 points in the latest rankings, titled Checkpoint #2, largely fueled by the 200-meter efforts of Joseph Randloph and Teo Casados on Friday at the New Mexico Team Open in Albuquerque.

Randolph set the CMU indoor record of 20.92 seconds in his Maverick debut and now ranks third on the national performance list in that event.  Casados, who held the former school record of 21.21 seconds, posted a time of 21.03 seconds in the same race and ranks fifth on the national list.

Casados also ranks 14th nationally in the 60 meters with his school-record setting time of 6.70 seconds from earlier in December.

The Mavericks will continue their season at this weekend's Colorado Classic in Boulder although Randolph nor Casados is entered to compete in that meet.
