COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released their Preseason Poll and Preseason All-RMAC team On Wednesday (Jan. 21) afternoon. Colorado Mesa was the unanimous pick to win the conference and had five selections for the Preseason All-RMAC team.
The Mavericks were picked to win the RMAC Regular Season Title for the 14
th straight season after winning the conference with a 26-4 record. They later went on to win the RMAC Tournament Title as they defeated MSU Denver 18-5 in the championship game.
Colorado Mesa earned all eight possible first place votes and garnered 64 points. CSU Pueblo and MSU Denver tied for second with 53 points while UCCS was fourth with 41 points. Regis and Colorado School of Mines round out the top six with 32 and 31 points respectively.
Seniors
Cameron Cartwright and
Kolby Felix were selected to the Preseason All-RMAC Team after receiving All-RMAC First Team nods in 2025. Cartwright was a consensus First Team All-American that batted .468 with 16 doubles and 21 home runs while Felix was an All-Region selection that batted .356 with 21 doubles and 13 home runs.
Joining Cartwright and Felix from the position players, is senior shortstop
Kennedy Hara. The Aiea, Hawaii product was an All-RMAC Second Team selection a season ago after batting .289 with eight doubles and four home runs.
Pitchers
Liam Hohenstein and
Sage Ferguson round out the Maverick group on the Preseason All-RMAC team. Hohenstein was an All-Region selection after pitching 41.1 innings and struck out 51 batters with opponents hitting .288 off him during his junior season.
Ferguson earned All-RMAC second team honors after pitching 30.1 innings with 28 strikeouts and a 4.45 ERA after missing the first five weeks of the season with an injury.
The Mavericks are slated to open the season on Friday February 6 against Cal Poly Pomona at Scolinos Field in Pomona, Calif.
